WHAT IS GUERNSEY EN GARDE?
Guernsey En Garde is a fencing club based in Guernsey. Set up by people passionate about the sport with coaches in foil, epee and sabre.

All coaches are qualified and authorised by British Fencing. The coaches are shown on the team page and you can check their registration with British Fencing. Please click here to go to the British Fencing coach search page.
The Club is registered with British Fencing and is shown on the British Fencing register which is available by clicking this link. We have a welfare officer who can be contacted on welfare@guernseyengarde.com.

The Club's constitution is available by clicking here and we are a registered charity (CH633) with our registration available to view on the charity register here.

HOW DO I JOIN?
We do require a completed membership form, along with the fencers British Fencing number. This ensures that all fencers are insured through the British Fencing insurance policy.

WHERE ARE WE BASED?
We are based at the Guernsey Badminton Hall in the Rohais, St Peter Port. Please refer to our schedule page for the latest details.
ARE THERE ANY CLUB RULES?
There are a few basic rules. These are largely to ensure the club and fencers comply with British Fencing requirements, the requirements of Guernsey Badminton Association's use of hall requirements and to ensure the safety of members. All fencers must comply with the rules listed below.

Each Fencer (or if under 18 years of age the relevant parent or carer of such fencer):

agrees to taking part in any activity with Guernsey En Garde and acknowledge the need to behave responsibly;

will be liable for any costs arising from any irresponsible or unlawful acts;

will be liable for any damage to the Guernsey Badminton Association property through irresponsible behaviour or the wearing of incorrect footwear (NB non-marking footwear to be worn);

agrees to receiving medication as instructed and any emergency dental, medical or surgical treatment, including anaesthetic or blood transfusion, as considered necessary by medical authorities present;

accepts that there is no Guernsey En Garde medical insurance and understands the extent and limitations of the BRITISH FENCING insurance cover and that a copy of the policy is available at www.britishfencing.com;

accepts liability for all costs arising from the instructions given to maintain the health and well-being of myself or my child (whichever is applicable) by representatives of Guernsey En Garde. Where appliable every effort shall be made to keep parents or carers informed and minimise costs arising. Membership of St John’s Ambulance in Guernsey is recommended;

should consider having in place private medical healthcare insurance with a scheduled acknowledgement that the member will be fencing as a dangerous sport.

agrees to be bound by the laws and resolutions of BRITISH FENCING and its constituent bodies and the Rules and Policies of Guernsey En Garde.
